We could not be more thrilled that the Treasure Island Sweet Potatoes appeared in The New York Times in March. In the Garden columnist Margaret Roach interviewed Marianne Wilburn, author of ‘Tropical Plants and How to Love Them’ for her article, ‘There’s a Reason Those Tropical Plants Look Good Enough to Eat.’

The article centered around tropical plants that don’t just look good but are edible and good for you too. In the interview, Marianne featured the virtues of the Treasure Island Sweet Potatoes, calling out the colorful tubers of the five different, delicious varieties which also have ornamental foliage that is tastey and edible.

We were glad to see the breeding duo of Pat Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Nurseries in Ireland and the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center were given a nod in the article.
